June 13 - July 18, 2008
Monday - Friday, 9am-6pm
Bruce Gagnier & Guest
The basic purposes of this class are to develop a sense of plasticity through drawing and clay modeling and to enhance the student’s ability to manipulate space and volume. It is sought to instill in each student a type of plastic consciousness that is linked to the imaginative faculty.
The various parts of the constructive anatomy of the human figure are studied through drawing and modeling to project the various parts in depth. Proportion and axial forces are emphasized. The study of the human figure is used to teach the placement of these various parts in space. They are studied in relation to their particular volumes and the articulation of these volumes in relation to one another. The character of the model as well as student is expected to be present in each day’s work.
The cost for this atelier is $3,125
