Museum of Art
The Met currently has about 6500 images from their collection online, organized
by curatorial department (i.e. European Paintings, Drawings &
Prints, Asian Art etc. They provide exhibition highlights, as well
as the ability to all of the online collection. You can also enter search
words, if there are specific subjects you want to see represented. The site
also includes information on current, future and past exhibitions.

of Modern Art
MOMA re-opened in 2004. At the moment, only highlights from the collection
can be viewed online, divided by department. You can also access their exhibition
schedule, information on opening times, and special events happening at the
Museum. The site also provides links to information on exhibitions at P.S.1.
- Whitney
Museum of American Art
Information on upcoming exhibitions, special programs and events, and research
facilities. Only highlights of the collection are currently online.
- Brooklyn Museum
Information on exhibitions, events (including "First Saturdays"), and images
from the collection.

Searchable database of Medieval and Renaissance manuscripts, with images,
in the collection of the Morgan Library in New York.

Center: Beacon
Upstate outpost of Chelsea's Dia Center for the Arts. The Chelsea space is
closed for renovations until 2006. The Dia specialises in contemporary art,
and is accessible by train from New York City.

New York's premier showcase for the art and culture of Latin America and the
Caribbean.
- National
Gallery of Art, Washington D.C.
The collection can be searched by artist or title, and is also divided into
specific periods, and by medium. Also provides special "online tours"
of specific areas of interest, including the "Web Tour of the Week".
- Getty
Museum, Los Angeles
The Getty Collection includes European art, including Etruscan, Greek and
Roman art at the Getty Villa. The collection can be searched by theme, artist,
time period or title.
- Tate
Galleries, UK
This website provides links to all four of the Tate Galleries: Tate Britain,
Tate Modern, Tate Liverpool and Tate St. Ives. 65,000 works are online, and
are serachable by artist, subject and title. A glossary is also provided,
along with links to newly-acquired collections and works.
- National
Gallery, London
The entire National Gallery collection is illustrated and viewable online.
It can be searched by theme, artist, time period or title.
