Scholarship
Much of the New York Studio School's financial assistance is based on documented financial need as demonstrated by completing the School's Financial Aid Application, found on the "Financial Services" page. To be considered for financial assistance, students must also be in good academic standing.
In addition to awards from the general scholarship fund, the School offers a number of special scholarships intended to provide highly gifted students the opportunity to experience a rigorous education in the visual arts among a talented peer group and under the guidance of internationally recognized faculty.
MAC CONNER Scholarship Fund- The New York Studio School is pleased to announce the Mac Conner Scholarship Fund for full tuition scholarships for MFA students. Qualified entering MFA applicants are eligible to apply for scholarships of $21,875 per year for two years of study beginning Fall 2013. Applicants must complete the New York Studio School Financial Aid Application and submit with the MFA Application by February 15, 2013.
JANE CHACE CARROLL Scholarships - The New York Studio School is pleased to announce the Jane Chace Carroll Scholarships for MFA Students. Qualified entering MFA applicants are eligible to apply for scholarships of $15,000 per year for two full years of study. Applicants must complete the New York Studio School Financial Aid Application and submit with the MFA Application by February 15, 2013.
HENRY WOLF Foundation Scholarship - is awarded annually to one or more incoming or current MFA or Certificate Students based on financial need. Students must demonstrate financial need through the School's Financial Aid Application to receive this scholarship.
RAMAPO Award - is given to incoming or current full time students in either the MFA or Certificate Program who are over the age of 40.
HARRIET GLAZIER Endowed Scholarship for Women Painters - is awarded to an incoming or current female painting student based on financial need. Students must demonstrate financial need through the School's Financial Aid Application to receive this scholarship.
HOHENBERG Travel Award - is available to current students only who have attended the New York Studio School for at least 4 semesters. The scholarship award is given to qualified candidates to be used as a stipend for European travel. To apply for this award, students must submit a description of travel plans as well as a piece of the applicant's recent work. The award is determined by a vote of faculty during an exhibition of the submitted artwork. All voting faculty are provided with each student's submitted travel plans.
ABSOLUTE SECRET Scholarship Award - is awarded to incoming and continuing students based on financial need. Students must demonstrate financial need through the School's Financial Aid Application to receive this scholarship.
HELENA RUBINSTEIN Foundation Scholarship - is awarded annually to a female MFA student.
CHAUTAUQUA Summer Scholarship - One full scholarship is available for the Chautauqua summer program for students enrolled full time during the Spring semester. Students nominate themselves to faculty who, in turn, make recommendations to the Dean. Final selection of the candidate is made by the Dean. Students must be in good financial and academic standing with the School. Students are required to pay the application fee and must submit a portfolio to Chautauqua. Additionally, students are responsible for their own travel and delivery of their supplies to and from the Chautauqua campus.
LCU Foundation Award - The Housing Award is granted to incoming or current fulltime female MFA students who make less than $30,000 a year, receive little or no financial support from family members or others, and remain in good standing within their program of study. Students must demonstrate financial need through the School's Financial Aid Application to be considered for these awards. Please note: Housing awards are granted when funding is made available to the School.
