Foreign Exchange

Many artists have found the experience of living and working in a foreign cultural environment has powerfully changed the course of their art. The foreign exchange program has been designed to encourage this growth. The sharing of this experience with one's peers, upon return to the School, is an invaluable part of the foreign exchange.

The New York Studio School maintains an active exchange program with art schools in Europe. Senior students are eligible to make a full exchange for one semester, usually including an apartment exchange. Tuition fees are paid at the home institution. Exchanges have been available with major universities and colleges, including the Royal College of Art, London; Chelsea School of Art, London; The Slade School of Art, London; the Hofschulle fur Kunst, Germany and Marseille Ecole D'Art, Marseille, France. New exchanges are often made available from other foreign art institutions.
