Alumni

Throughout its history, the New York Studio School has seen a variety of students pass through its doors. From students who helped form the School in its very beginnings in 1964, led by Mercedes Matter and Marc Zimetbaum, to more recent Alumni who have helped spread the word via exhibitions, teaching or word of mouth, and who have expressed their own varied and diverse experiences of the New York Studio School.
We have Alumni across the world, and we consider it a privilege to have such great artists, people and supporters both nationally and internationally.

Alumni Exhibition & Committee

In keeping with the theme 40 Years of the New York Studio School, this year's Alumni Exhibition will be an invitational sculpture show entitled Four Sculptors, curated by David Cohen. David has selected four sculptors, all of whom have been students of the School, and each will be given a separate room to exhibit their work. More information on the exhibition can be found on the Gallery website.

Looking towards next year's Exhibition, the Alumni Committee are considering the possibility of a show with the theme "Alumni Choose Alumni". The idea behind this theme is that 10-15 alumni would be invited by the Committee to act as 'Alumni Curators'. These curators would then each select one fellow alumna/alumnus to be represented by 2 - 3 works.

If this theme does become next year's Alumni Exhibition, would you like to put your name, or someone else's, on the list to be considered for one of the Alumni Curator positions?

Are you interested in joining the Alumni Committee, so as to have input on our approaches to Alumni Exhibition themes, organization, planning and execution - and to help us focus on other alumni issues?

The Alumni Committee is seeking new members. A larger, more diverse group would give us a much-needed broader base for decision-making, as well as providing greater resources for the implementation of various projects.

Please encourage your fellow alumni to register on via our mailing list, and check the site regularly for updated information.

Transcript Requests

If you are a former full-time student, and need a transcript from the School, please use our Transcript Request form. Transcripts can only be provided for those who were enrolled as full-time students.

The first transcript is $5.00, and any additional transcript is $2.00 for each requested. Please be aware that it will normally take 10 business days to process a request.

Rush transcript requests will incur an extra $25 rush fee, in addition to the usual costs.
