Joseph Ryan's solo exhibition "Attention Returned" is on view at Galerie Mourlot, NY until June 1, 2010.
Michael Ajerman will be having a solo show at Transition Gallery in London opening in June, and a solo exhibition at Tommey Tourell Fine Art in San Francisco in December.
Andrea Schwartz-Feit's exhibition of recent encaustic paintings, "Seeing Without Knowing" will open in May at the Butters Gallery in Portland, Oregon. Her work will also be featured in Portland's annual Cascades Aids Project Auction, and in the invitational exhibition "Luminous Layers" in Lake Oswego, OR in June.
An exhibition of Celia Gerard's drawings will open at the Mark Potter Gallery at the Taft School in Watertown, CT on Friday, March 26th from 5-7pm. The show will be up through April 24th.
NYSS alumni including Leo Anker, Phong Bui, Chris Carone, Sasha Chermayeff, Carol Diamond, Cathy Diamond, Xico Greenwald, Tine Lundsfryd, Gary Nichols, Cecelia Rembert, Deirdre Swords, Torild Stray and Alice Zinnes, together with current faculty members Bruce Gagnier, Bill Jensen, Elisa Jensen, Margrit Lewczuk and Lee Tribe are currently featured in a show at the Sideshow Gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, opening January 9 2010.
Malado Baldwin, MFA 2006; Christina Kee, MFA 2006; Geoff Stein, Audrey Shachnow, Stephanie Franks and current student Ophir Agassi are featured in the Rogue Space Chelsea's First International Juried Show, opening January 14 through January 30, 2010.
Marianne Barcellona, NYSS 1966-68, 1996-99, is featured in the show Self Image: Contemporary Self Portraits on view at Arts Guild New Jersey from January 15 through February 12 2010.
Dan Abrams, MFA 2005, and Marc Zimetbaum, a founding student of the School, are currently featured in the show Chautauqua: A Continuum of Creativity, at Denise Bibro Gallery in Chelsea, from January 5 through February 13, 2010. This show also features current student Rochelle Goldberg and members of the current faculty including Stanley Lewis, Carole Robb and Lee Tribe.
Carl Scorza had two paintings featured in a show of views of New York. The paintings, one from the World Trade Center and one from Governor's Island, were on show at Federal Hall from October 8 - 30, 2009.
Marianne Barcellona, NYSS 1966-68, 1996-99, was one of ten internationally selected artists to receive a 2009 Artist's Fellowship for a month's Residency at The Baer Art Center in Hofsos, Iceland.
Gwen Myerson, NYSS 1977-78, had having a solo exhibition of paintings at Onda Restaurant near South Street Seaport.
Megan Williamson, NYSS 1983-86, had a solo show of landscapes titled Bed of Earth, Blanket of Blue Air, at Madron Gallery, Chicago, from September 29 through October 30, 2009.
Babette Rittenberg, MFA 2007, had a solo show titled American Heads at Sibley Galley, New Orleans, from October 3 through November 3, 2009.
Kimberlee Alemian was represented in a three-person show at the Art Complex Museum in Duxbury, MA. The show, En Plein Air, also included Sue Charles and Vincent Crotty, and was open through November 8, 2009.
Michael Harris, MFA 2008, had a solo show at Sarit Chalamish Gallery on W. 27th Street, Manhattan, titled Drama. Queens. Drama. The show opened Thursday, September 10 and ran through October 4, 2009.
Susu Pianchupattana, MFA 2007, was featured in the show You Are Standing Into Danger, curated by Walker Waugh, at Space 414 in Red Hook, Brooklyn, from August 7 - September 11, 2009.
Jim Condron, 1994-96, was featured in the exhibition Landscapes and Exteriors: Paintings by David Campbell, Jim Condron, Wolf Kahn and Trace Miller at Thomas Segal Gallery, Baltimore, from July 21 - September 15, 2009.
Margaret Noel, MFA 2005, was featured in a show of recent works with John Lee and Aaron Lubrick at Prince Street Gallery from July 28 - August 15, 2009. She recently accepted a tenure track position in the Studio Art Department of Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, after three years as a Visiting Professor of Art.
Celia Gerard, MFA 2007, was featured in a group show of gallery artists titled Open Your Arms to the Sun at the Sears-Peyton Gallery, through August 14, 2009.
Christina Kee, MFA 2006, had two works featured in the show Twenty-Five Painters Under Thirty-Five, curated by Ryan Coburn at The Painting Center, from June 23 - July 18, 2009.
Jim Plunkett, MFA 2005, had two paintings in the show SPCTCLR VWS at One Brooklyn Bridge Park. The show, which also featured faculty member and alumna Elisa Jensen, was curated by Mary Mihelic, and opened on Friday, May 15 2009.
Laurie Frick, MFA 2007, had an exhibition titled Laurie Frick: Visual Time on view in the Project Room at Robert Steele Gallery, 511 West 25th Street, from May 14 - June 13, 2009.
