Carl Scorza has been painting from life in a continuing effort to find an enduring statement within our transitory experience. “Scorza’s use of color and modulation of all elements in a composition produces a harmony and surface unity that also manages to retain the spirit of natures fleeting temporal character.” (Phyllis Braff, New York Times). He was born in New York City and is a graduate of the New York Studio School of Painting Drawing and Sculpture. He lives and works in New York City and East Hampton and is represented by Behr-Thyssen Gallery, NY and Wallace Gallery in East Hampton, NY. He has been artists in residence on Governors Island for the last three years and founded the Governors Island Studio Center.
