Frances Barth
Paintings

The New York Studio School is delighted to present Frances Barth: Paintings, the final exhibition in our 2005-06 season.
This selection of works from 2001-2006 includes several paintings that were part of Barth's exhibition in June and July 2005 at Dartmouth College where she had been artist-in-residence that summer, as well as paintings made subsequently. We are very grateful to Dartmouth for their cooperation in the preparation of our exhibition. Special thanks are extended to Gerald Auten, Director, Studio Art Exhibition Program. This is the third exhibition collaboration between our institutions in recent years, the others being Ruth Miller: Drawings, in 2002, and Lois Dodd: Nudes in the Landscape, in 2004. We are also very grateful to Barbara O'Brien for her kind permission to reproduce her Dartmouth catalogue essay at this website.
Thanks are also extended to Jollyon Carter for his work on the installation of the show, and to Ponzi & Weill for their design contributions.
