Chris Duncan Chris Duncan was born in New York City in 1952. After graduating from Colby College, Maine and winning the Zorach fellowship to the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and their annual purchase prize, he began three years of study on full scholarship at the New York Studio School under Clement Meadmore, Sidney Geist, and others. Duncan worked as studio assistant to William Tucker in New York and London, and to Brooks Parker in New York. Awards include grants from the Public Art Fund, the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, and the Maine Percent for Art. He has taught or been in residence at Bennington College, Virginia Commonwealth University, Nanjing Art Institute in PR China, SUNY Buffalo Casting Institute, Vermont Studio Center, Triangle Artists Workshop, Franconia Sculpture Park, Studio Space, Portland School of Art (MECA), Dartmouth College and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, among others, and is professor of sculpture and drawing at Union College, Schenectady, NY. Duncan is represented by Bruno Marina Gallery in Brooklyn and by Gallery 100 in Saratoga Springs, NY.
