Geoffrey Heyworth Geoffrey Dane Heyworth was born in New York City in 1943 and attended Harvard College, the Art Students League, and Columbia College in the 1960s, as well as the New York Studio School in 1965-66 and 1967-68. He also studied at the Sculpture Center School, 1985-87. He was the subject of solo exhibitions at the Bowery Gallery in 1990 and 1998, and hs taken part in group exhibitions there, at the Sculpture Center, Loguidice Gallery, the Food Stamp Gallery and the several Studio School alumni exhibitions. Commissions have included dance sets for the James Waring company at the Judson Church Dance Festival in 1965 and the Barnard College Dance Department in 1984. His sculpture for the 139th Street and Broadway Traffic Island in July 1994, installed by the New York City Department of Parks, is now permanently located at 182nd Street and Audubon Avenue. Heyworth has taught at The Church Art School and Gallery, Stockbridge, MA, 1971-72; was a visiting artist at the School of Visual Arts, New York City, 1986; and City College, New York, in 1996.
