Art can change lives.

Known for its innovative teaching, the New York Studio School attracts outstanding students from all over the world. For nearly half a century, the School has maintained a belief in its original vision: faith in the great language of art, a commitment to excellence, integrity, and serious work habits, the encouragement of an open mind, and the conviction of the power of art to change one's life.

The program has been the most profound experience of my life. I am daily challenged in every way in my art. The teaching I have encountered at the school has that rare combination of depth, quality, experience, and extraordinary passion.
Cecilia Warren, Sydney, Australia, MFA Class of 2015

Being able to study with the dedicated faculty as well as visiting critics and artists has pushed my painting practice to new and exciting places. I learned so much and met so many talented, intelligent people during my two years in the program…I have been a serious artist for nearly 12 years now and decided that I wanted to take on a graduate degree not only to strengthen my own work, but to provide myself with a foundation for teaching the next generation of artists. I realize that the guidance of the thoughtful and engaging teachers was crucial and that this passing down of values is an important part of preserving the integrity of art-making. Edmond Praybe, Baltimore, MD, MFA Class of 2012
